05 Dec Simple Dashboard in Dynamics GP Using Excel Reports
Almost everyone that’s looking for a new ERP system asks about dashboards. They want to get their key performance indicators (KPI’s) together in one place, so they get a snapshot of how their business is performing.
This is relatively easy to do using Excel and the quick data connections that can easily be created using Dynamics GP. More and more I see Microsoft and others using Excel as a reporting tool. Traditionally thought of as a calculation tool, Excel has a lot of nice formatting tools and a familiar user interface that make it perfect for reporting.
Combine Excel with the open nature of the Dynamics GP SQL Server database, and you have the tools for quickly making dashboards that address your specific needs. Easy to make and easy to share. Once you have your dashboard put together you can refresh the data at any time, and also share it with others in your organization.
