Multicompany SmartLists in Dynamics GP

Multicompany SmartLists in Dynamics GP

SmartLists is probably the most popular reporting tool in Dynamics GP. It’s easy to use and it really lets you get to the data you want.

If you have multiple company databases in your GP system you should consider using SmartList Builder to create SmartLists that will access data from multiple companies at the same time. This can be handy if you need to get vendor information across multiple companies. People also use it to grab fixed assets information from several different companies.

This video shows you how easy it can be to get this information:

Hi Steve! Excellent as always. Do you know if there is a limit to the number of companies you can connect in a SmartList Builder report?
    Thanks!

      I don’t believe there’s any limit.

This is great to know. I just tried it with partial success. Even though I checked off all the company databases under Options / Multicompany Smartlist not companies appear in the Smartlist output (most have checkbooks). What causes this? I thought SQL Table Security may be the issue but there was no consistency with what was checked off and the output.

Also, can this be replicated in Excel Report Builder?
