16 Aug Hackers Target Small Businesses
Hackers do not avoid you just because you’re a small business. If you think your systems are safe just because you don’t store any valuable information such as credit card numbers or bank account information, you are wrong.
A great post by Donna Fuscaldo at Foxbusiness.com covers this subject and should get you thinking.
The post references two experts in the systems security space:
- Rohit Sethi, VP at Security Compass, a security consulting company
- Dave Chronister, founder of Parameter Security
I could paraphrase the post here, but you should really read it for yourself here.
If you’re not yet convinced you should invest just a tiny bit of time to this, take in this quote below:
“Just because you don’t have any information doesn’t mean your resources aren’t desirable to a hacker,” says Chronister. “Keep your systems as secure as possible and understand it’s not a matter of if you will have an outage, but when.”
