(Editors Note: This post has been updated. For more complete information go to the updated post.)
The Microsoft Dynamics AX 7 date of release is expected for later this year and not much has been revealed about the new version. Here’s a bit of what we know so far.
Dynamics AX is Microsoft’s most powerful enterprise resource planning solution and the upcoming release of the newest version is going by many names including Dynamics AX Rainier, AX 2015 or AX7 as Microsoft refers to it. Whatever you want to call it, this release will likely be a major one.
You can learn more about hosting the current version of Microsoft Dynamics AX in the cloud on our Dynamics hosting licenses page. Now let’s look at what we know so far about AX7.
Last month at the AX User Group Summit, a few details were revealed but many of the product enhancements will revolve around making it more cloud and mobile friendly.
AX7 Cloud First
Not surprisingly, with the Dynamics AX7 release Microsoft is making it easier than ever to access AX in the cloud with a more web enabled interface for web browser sign-on. This will greatly improve the experience for the end user.
Other architectural enhancements that began in AX 2012 R3 will continue to help developers, VARs and ISVs customize AX or extend its industry functionality in the cloud.
Stay tuned as we will be sure to hear more about AX7 at Convergence in just a few weeks and of course there will be updates as Microsoft releases more info the closer we get to the Dynamics AX7 release date.
