05 Nov Deploying Excel Reports in Dynamics GP
Excel Reports are a great reporting tool because you can export data from Dynamics GP, into Excel. And then you can use the rich formatting functionality in Excel to easily create graphs and present you data the way you want.
I use this functionality to create quick dashboards, and use the Pivot Table functionality to select and order the data I want. The best part though, is that when you export the data from GP, a data connection with all the specifics of the query used to render the report, is automatically create for you and stored in the Excel spreadsheet.
But you do have to deploy the Excel Reports. A lot of users skip this step and then wonder why they can’t find this great reporting tool. Here is a video that shows how to deploy Excel Reports:
