03 Jul Cloud Security in the Cloud for IT
IT managers moving their systems to the cloud are very concerned with cloud security. They are used to managing all the security aspects of their business systems themselves. Surrendering a portion of security management to others can be tough to do.
A recent study commissioned by Microsoft of small and midsize businesses (SMBs) indicated that businesses that had moved some of their critical systems to the cloud are very happy with the security and reliability that cloud solutions can provide.
These are some of the results of the study:
Security – 94% of SMBs have experienced security benefits in the cloud that they didn’t previously have with their on-premises service, such as up-to-date systems, up-to- date antivirus protection and spam email management.
Security – 59% of cloud users said they benefitted from their systems being up to date since moving to the cloud.
Security – 55% of cloud users have reduced the amount of time they spend managing security since moving to the cloud.
Privacy – 49% of SMBs said they feel very comfortable with their cloud provider’s ability to manage data privacy.
Reliability – 96% of SMBs that use the cloud are confident their cloud provider has mechanisms in place to quickly and effectively restore systems during an outage.
