18 Jun Cloud Security Concerns for Emerging and Mid-sized Businesses
Cloud security still remains a major concern for businesses that are considering moving their ERP systems to the cloud. But a new study commissioned by Microsoft and reviewed by Nicole Henderson at Web Host Industry Review indicate that businesses are becoming increasingly comfortable with cloud solutions.
These are some of the benefits people are realizing from hosting their business systems in the cloud. And improved security is among them:
For those emerging and mid-sized companies that already use the cloud, “94 percent of these users claim to have gained security benefits they did not have with their former on-premises technology. More than half say they have seen increased levels of privacy protection in the cloud, while 75 percent have experienced improved service availability.”
“The real silver lining in cloud computing is that it enables companies not only to invest more time and money into growing their business, but to better secure their data and to do so with greater degrees of service reliability as well.” – Adrienne Hall, General Manager, Trustworthy Computing, Microsoft
“With the money saved by adopting cloud services, 70 percent of SMBs in the study say that they have invested those savings into other areas such as product development and innovation, demand creation and expansion into new markets.”
